In Florida the most common type of grass we have is St Augustine with an average height of above 4 inches when cut, Most older systems where built using 4" tall sprinklers. One of the most common causes of dry spots and poor performance is the spray pattern of the sprinklers being blocked by the grass due to the heads being too short, this leaves us with challenges some other areas don't face, We are always going to recommend using 6" tall spray sprinklers to get a much taller unobstructed spray pattern even with thicker grass

We are only going to use to best quality sprinkler heads. All of the sprinklers that we offer are fully pressure regulated to create the most even application of water as possible and limit the amount of water used and wasted by reducing and evening the operating pressure range between all heads. A lot of states including Washington, Colorado, Hawaii, Vermont and California already require Pressure Regulated Sprinkler heads due the impact that they have on conservation efforts. Are you constantly having to fix broken sprinkler heads? The most likely reason for this is that it is very common for sprinklers to simply be screwed directly into a hard pipe with no wiggle room or give to them so as soon as something bumps it or runs it over it will simply break off or worse break the pipe underneath it.
